What's a good, average and poor finish for us?
We've dropped down to 7th and we seem to have a lot of injuries again. So considering we've been between 4th to 8th for what seems like most of the season what would be a good finishing position from here, an acceptable finishing position and a poor finishing position from where we are now?

My view 4th or 5th would good I think although I think getting in the top 4 has gone now. 6th or 7th acceptable and anything lower bad.

We were not an also ran when taking Liverpool apart at Anfield, beating City and Arsenal away and playing some great football along the way

We are still in the cup, have re signed several key players and know that there will be funds to invest, another success this season, again in the summer

The best is yet to come - and it has been a great season so far

We are still a bit of an "also ran" aren't we.

On balance, I was a bit NOTHING about it, fordy son.

Before the game, I think it's a game we should be winning.
Being 2-0 down after 70 minutes, I'm pleased that the skipper dragged us up to get a point.

In fairness, after 120 minutes of SHEER HELL in the week, I was probably a bit complacent to begin with.

Still see 8th as a good finish, mid table as a bit disappointing given the money spent this year and the decent start. Anything lower as poor as we haven't progressed.

It's a really tight division this year. If you drop points then you can easily drop a few places.

Norwich are not going to lose every game between now and the end of the season.

I love Slaven and I love this season but chance to go 5th against a poor team on Saturday, that was a fail for me.

I think it's HIGHLY DEBATEABLE on whether our football has improved.

Our long balls stat is pretty fucking high.

Set the bench mark low? Not many fans of other teams boo their team when they've won a game!

In fact quite a few non WHU fans I know think we're very unrealistic and dare I say, deluded.

motley- We set the benchmark low at West Ham, we have a small time mentality, always have and most likely always will. It's why supporters of other clubs and the media never take us seriously. Up the 'ammers!

I don't see how anyone couldn't be disappointed we didn't beat Norwich who'd lost 5 or 6 on the spin.

Re: What's a good, average and poor finish for us?
I said at the start of the season that with a new manager inexperienced of the league, and a few foreign imports that we were unsure if they would hit the ground running then I would have been happy enough with 13th or above as long as we saw an improvement in the style of football. I honestly didn't see us doing this well so anything in the top half I would still be very pleased with. 6th/7th and I would be very happy indeed.

Anything better than last season's 13th and I'll be taking my hat off to Slaven. I wasn't sure about him, but he's played a blinder in the transfer market.

Oh yeah, to come from 2-0 down to get a point is magnificent. But I still say at the start of the match we should be beating Norwich. They are poor.

I don't want to sound deluded. I am just being realistic. And I think the squad we have should be qualifying for Europe. And not only is this squad good enough you also have teams like Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool out of the picture this season due to their unusually low positions at the moment.

I will be massively disappointed if we don't capitalise on that because it will be rare when we find ourselves mid Feb above any of them again.....Maybe Everton but certainly not the other two who will come back bigger and better next season.

I won't be crying, calling for Bilic, calling for G&S or moaning about any players etc etc. No knicker wetting. I will just be disappointed because this season is a great, great opportunity staring us right in the face.

I was happy with a point Saturday and I would be happy with 8th.

Re: What's a good, average and poor finish for us?
To be honest, whatever happens now it's been a good season for us.

The club is more UNITED than it has been for years, and there's a real connection between the team, the manager and the supporters.

The BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR brigade - many of them who claim to support us - had us down for relegation, so to have achieved the aim (to be a PL club when moving to the shitheap) before the end of Feb is excellent.

Russ -Many on here were happy with a point at Norwich who had lost 5 straight before we rocked up, so I think many here will also be happy with 8th or 9th, anything else and you are 'deluded' remember..
